Learn to Skate
*Next Learn to Skate - March 2027*
Learn to Skate (LTS) is an opportunity for kids who are ages 4-8 to learn to skate. This is for NEW skaters and is open to Baldwin-Woodville, St. Croix Central, Glenwood City, and Spring Valley residents. We will have coaching staff to help. We focus on the fundamentals of skating and having fun!
Ages
LTS is for skaters between the ages of 4-8. This is for NEW skaters.
Please note the Learn to Skate program has a minimum age of 4 years old. We have found that kids younger than that often can't make it through 8 - 45 min sessions just due to their age and attention span. Kids that age also typically require 1 on 1 assistance and we just don't have that capability as we run a station based program. We do this just to make sure the kids have a great experience. The last thing we want is a kid to have a negative experience their first time skating. This policy is just to ensure we are meeting the skaters' needs and they have a great experience!
When
LTS is 8 sessions long and typically offered in the Spring and Fall. Watch the Community Ed schedule for future sessions.
Cost
Please note that Learn to Skate is FREE skating lessons from Blackhawk Hockey Association, but there is a small fee required when you register with USA Hockey. The skater is required to register with USA Hockey to get on the ice for liability reasons.

All practices are held at the United Civic Center in Baldwin, WI.
