Boys/Girls Youth Hockey

Blackhawk Hockey Association develops youth hockey players of all skill levels in Baldwin and surrounding communities and provides opportunities to play organized competitive hockey in a way that promotes good sportsmanship and a love of the game, resulting in a great experience for all participants. 

Be sure to complete the two-step registration process to ensure your registration is complete. 

Registration Deadline: July 31, 2026

• All returning players, including those who participated in Learn to Skate last season, must register by July 31st to avoid a $100 late fee. 
• High school boys and FUSION girls must register through the association for headcount purposes only and do not need to complete step 1. You will not be charged during registration, as your participation fee (approximately $625, exact amount TBD) will be paid directly to your residing school district. 

****NOTE: PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU REGISTER PLAYERS

If you will be over the family cap, please email the registrar for a custom registration link. You will register all your players online, including High School players. You will not pay the High School Fees online, however this will be used in the calculation of the family cap. When you register your High School players you DON'T do the USA HOCKEY registration.

Online registration with USA Hockey is mandatory before completing BHA registration for all players, coaches (excluding Varsity High School and FUSION players), and team managers.

• No skater (player or coach) is allowed on the ice until this step is completed and submitted
• This includes a separate registration and includes an additional fee not included in your association dues or the family cap.

• During USA Hockey registration there is also a $15 affiliate fee for WAHA. 
• A valid USA Hockey number is required to proceed with association registration
• To confirm your registration is for the 2026-2027 season, the 4th digit of your USA Hockey number must be a 7 (Example: 190703711ABCDE).
• Please visit the USA Hockey website for detailed registration instructions.

Registering members must reside in the area(s) of: B-W School District, SCC School District, Glenwood City School District, Spring Valley School District.

• During registration there is a $100 tournament fee for Girls 10U/12U/14U and Boys Squirts/PeeWee/Bantams
• Family Cap: A maximum family fee cap of $1,100 is available.

Hosting invitational tournaments is one of our biggest fundraisers each year. Each team is required to provide staffing support for their respective tournament level. Tournament dates and details will be available on the Calendar page of this website. 

Please note: Hours worked during your player's home tournament do not count toward the required winter volunteer hours. 

This season's pizza fundraiser will feature Heggie's Pizzas and will take place in October 2026. Order forms are due by TBD, with product pickup scheduled for November (exact date TBD).

BHA is a community-based, volunteer-run organization. To help ensure a fair distribution of responsibilities, each family is required to complete the following service hours:

• Minimum requirement: 35 hours per family
• First-year families: Minimum of 25 hours
• Note: Hours are not prorated for the winter season. Unfulfilled hours will result in a $500 fee for returning families and a $400 fee for first year families which will be invoiced in early April 2026
• Winter Work Hours September 16, 2026 - March 15, 2027

• Minimum requirement: 25 hours per family
• First-year families: Minimum of 25 hours
• Hours will be prorated at a rate of $20 per hour. Unfulfilled work hours will be invoiced in early October 2026
• Summer Work Hours March 16, 2027 - September 15, 2027

• Hours from one season cannot be carried over or credited to another
• Each family is responsible for logging their own hours and report them to workhours@blackhawkhockey.net
• If you claim volunteer hours on the website, your hours will be automatically recorded
• If the required hours are not fulfilled, the family will be automatically charged to the card on file
